The admission test dates for the 2025-2026 academic session at Dhaka University have been announced. Applications will open on October 29 and remain open until 11:59 PM on November 16.
This decision was made at a general admission committee meeting held on Monday at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building auditorium, presided over by Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan.
The schedule for the undergraduate program admission tests has been set as follows: Arts, Law, and Social Science units will hold their exams on December 13; Science unit on December 20; Business Studies unit on December 6; Fine Arts unit (General Knowledge and Drawing) on November 29; and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) unit on November 28.
All units except the IBA unit will conduct their exams from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The IBA unit’s exam will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Apart from the Fine Arts and IBA units, the other three units’ admission tests will be held in Dhaka as well as eight divisional cities. The divisional centers include Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barisal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University/Kabi Nazrul University, and Begum Rokeya University. The Business Studies unit exam will be conducted at Dhaka University along with Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Khulna University, and Begum Rokeya University.
The committee decided that all units except Fine Arts will have a 60-mark MCQ exam and a 40-mark written exam. The Fine Arts unit will have a 40-mark MCQ and a 60-mark drawing exam. The Fine Arts MCQ exam will last 30 minutes, and the drawing exam 60 minutes. Other units will have 45 minutes each for the MCQ and written exams.
Candidates will be assessed out of a total of 120 marks, with 100 marks allocated to the admission test and 20 marks based on Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent results. Applicants must have passed SSC or equivalent between 2020 and 2023 and HSC or equivalent in 2025. Minimum eligibility requires a combined GPA of 8.0 with at least 3.5 separately in SSC and HSC for the Science unit; a combined GPA of 7.5 with at least 3.0 separately for the Arts, Law, and Social Science units; a combined GPA of 7.5 with at least 3.0 separately for the Business Studies unit; and a combined GPA of 6.5 with at least 3.0 separately for the Fine Arts unit (including the fourth subject).
