The National University of Bangladesh has announced that the Degree First-Year Examinations for the 2024 academic session will commence on 18 November 2025 and continue until 6 January 2026. Each day’s examination will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.
According to an official circular issued by the university, details regarding the practical examinations, including venue and schedule, will be published later. It further noted that the practical examination centre fees must be submitted to the respective practical centres by the concerned authorities.
The circular outlines several important instructions for college principals and examinees to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations:
| Instruction Area | Description |
| Admit Cards | College principals must log in to the official portal ems.nu.ac.bd using their designated password to download, print, and distribute admit cards to students. Each admit card must bear the principal’s signature or facsimile signature in the designated area. Distribution must be completed at least three days before the commencement of examinations. |
| Examinee Responsibilities | Students must appear for their examinations according to the subject codes printed on their admit cards. The time and venue for practical examinations must be checked independently by each student. |
| Roll Details and Fees | Colleges are required to download and print two copies of the roll list for each candidate from ems.nu.ac.bd. One copy must be preserved by the college, while the other should be submitted to the respective examination centre along with the centre fee of BDT 600—of which BDT 400 is to be handed over to the centre’s officer-in-charge at least three days before the exams begin. The remaining BDT 200 will be used by the college to cover examination-related expenses. |
| Identification Requirements | Students must present their original registration card and admit card at the examination hall during attendance checks. |
| Information Access | All official notices, schedules, and updates related to the examinations will be available exclusively on the National University’s website www.nu.ac.bd. |
Students and authorities are strongly advised to visit the official website at least three times daily—in the morning, afternoon, and evening—throughout the examination period to stay informed about any urgent updates or announcements.
The circular also emphasises that no notices will be sent via postal mail, and any information circulated on social media platforms will not be considered official or valid.
This directive aims to ensure transparency, efficiency, and uniform communication across all affiliated colleges and examination centres under the National University.
